A little bit about me…

I’m a socially-minded individual who enjoys the challenge of exploring complex problems through foresight, systemic thinking, and a long-standing passion for inclusion.

I bring a systems lens to my work, seeking to understand how system structures influence behaviours and outcomes, and how cultural stories underpin and reinforce them. I imagine how a system may evolve or be impacted by emerging and mature trends using research, history, and foresight methodologies to uncover patterns and relationships. My persistent passion for inclusion challenges me to continue to learn different ways of thinking and knowing, to build my self-awareness and better understand how my lens shapes my perceptions of the world.

In June 2022, I completed Strategic Foresight & Innovation (SFI) graduate program at OCAD University (OCADU). During this time, I expanded my skillset, developing skills in strategy, foresight and systemic analysis. Throughout the program, my passion for inclusion led me to focus on topics that grapple with complex social problems: bias in emerging technologies, maltreatment in sports, decolonization and terra nullius in the futures of space, etc. Read more about my graduate work.

Born and raised in Toronto, I now live on the beautiful Saanich Peninsula of Vancouver Island where I love to stay active and enjoy the outdoors—running, hiking, gardening, and paddle boarding.

Outside of work

I believe it’s important to Give back…

I’ve benefited from the generosity and dedication of numerous others and, to pay it back, I like to pay it forward.

Most recently, I served on the Board of Directors for the Canadian charity, Mosqoy, helping to guide their marketing initiatives. I was, and continue to be, inspired by their sustainable development work, working with the Indigenous Peoples in the Peruvian Andes.

I’ve also been involved in a variety of smaller roles including judging for awards/hackathons, teaching drone workshops and simulator piloting, and as a mentor for high school girls.

…And to Keep Growing

I have a love reading and travel that goes back to my childhood. I love the perspectives and worlds they open. So I always have a book (or two) and a list of places to visit on the go. I love creating and exploring, whether it’s being artsy, crafty, or curious. I like to draw, I’ve dabbled in 3D printing and design, I’ve folded my own origami bouquets, and I’m forever dreaming of expanding my language skills.

I’ve also trained in Taekwon-Do for over a decade and am a 3rd degree black belt. I competed internationally on Team USA and Team Canada at the 2017 Unified World Championships in Argentina, and Team USA at the 2019 World Cup in Brazil and am working towards my 4th degree black belt.
